The program benefits both myself by establishing a sustainable income I can rely on to build my practice on and the collector receives special access and pricing to my work.  The Collector’s Circle program is made up of up to a maximum of ten members at any given time.  Members buy into the program at one of two tiers and in return receive credit to purchase artwork at a value double to the amount of their buy in.  Tier 1 buy in is $5000 and Tier 2 buy in is $10,000. This essentially amounts to wholesale pricing on my artwork.  So a member who buys in at $5,000 will receive $10,000 in credit and a member who buys in at $10,000, they will receive $20,000 in credit to use toward present or future purchases of my work.  Higher buy in levels are also negotiable.

The credit is available to use at your own pace as long as they remain a member.  Membership is renewed annually.  Credit is usable up to two years after leaving the Collector’s Circle for the members who buy in at Tier 1 and three years for the members who buy in at Tier 2. 

Credits may be used to purchased artworks entirely or be applied toward the balance of artwork if credit is insufficient.  Credits are non-transferable, but balances may be paid by another party, for example a credit may be used toward an artwork and a family member or friend may pay the balance.  This allows credits to be used by others while not being transferred. Shipping expenses and applicable taxes are excluded and are paid as necessary when artwork is selected by the member.*

The obligation members agree to is to help find replacement members when they choose to exit the Collector’s Circle.  This means the member agrees to introduce people they think may be interested in joining my Collector’s Circle.  Word of mouth is the most trusted marketing and members agree to contact their circles of influence to help maintain the program. It is expected that the member make at least three credible introductions for their replacement when they choose to leave the circle.  Members may make introductions individually or host an art viewing party where prospective members have the opportunity to see my work and meet me in person.

Collector’s Circle Member perks:

• Members get double the credits of the dollar amount their buy in level. Credits are valid throughout the term of their membership and for two years following the exit of tier 1 members and 3 years following the exit of tier 2 members.

• Credits are redeemed on a one credit to one dollar value applied to the retail value of the work.

• Members gain more than credits for wholesale pricing, members also gain special access to new work before it is published or released to the public.

• Members receive updates on new projects and works in progress.  Members also receive special access to me in studio visits, and personal visits if in the area and may visit or help out at special events or art fairs for which a free pass is usually available if it is a paid event. 
  

• Members will also receive free books or other publications featuring my work as they upon availability.
  

• Finally, if space is open in the Collector’s Circle, any member may earn a $1,000 credit for each introduction that leads to a new member joining the Circle.

* Taxes and shipping are charged to the member when artwork is collected. If the transaction takes place in the state of California, CA sales tax is collected. If the artwork is shipped out of state, no CA tax is collected but the member may need to report the acquisition to their state tax agencies. Sol Hill studio is not responsible for out of state tax reporting. Shipping expenses are paid by member, but insurance is covered under Sol Hill Studio umbrella policy until the point of delivery.
